March 2006.

Queenie.

The Rocky Trust Fund is currently funding the care of 11 week old "Queenie".
Purchased from a less than reputable breeder at 6 weeks old, Queenie has ? suddenly lost her sight for no apparent reason. The people who bought her were unable to cope, and so a temporary foster home has been offered whilst the Rocky Trust organise a specialist opthalmic exam and consider the future for this puppy.

Update : 20th March 2006.
Well, sad news and good news!
Sad because today Queenie had her specialist appointment today with Paragon Vets in Penrith. She has been diagnosed as being completely blind ~ or with so little vision that its not worth mentioning. This, it seems, has been the case from birth, and probably accounts for why she is so well adjusted and confident.
However, the really good news is that the lady who has been fostering the puppy has offered her a forever home! Now what could be nicer than that?

GSD Helpline will continue to help and support her new owner, to fund special training classes, and provision will be made to spay Queenie as soon as she is old enough.
