Judy Cooper has dedicated her life's work to canine welfare, training,
behaviour and general animal husbandry. For the last 42 years Judy has
ben advising on canine care, training and behavioural problems.
Judy works tirelessly to promote responsible pet ownership. Judy is
not only involved in canine welfare, but feline and avian also.
Judy has 2 GSD's, 3 bengal cats and numerous birds in her Buckinghamshire
home.
In addition to her breeding and owning GSD's for the past 42 years
she has also rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed various other breeds of
dog.
Judy is a rescue assessor for a breed society in which she is heavily
involved in rehoming and advising on behaviourally problematic dogs. This
involves takign telephone calls, assessment of 100's of dogs and people,
and in helping dogs to adjust to moving to new owners. Also Judy has helped
many enquirers with their dog behaviour problems and this has equipped
Judy to understand the nuances of dog behaviour and human relationships
and interactions.
Judy trains her dogs in competitive obedience and agility and has been
involved in display training her dogs. She has also trained dogs for film
and TV work and has been involved in many photography shoots for behaviour
and dog training books. Judy also writes internationally in various breed
magazines and books.
Judy trains and instructs basic obedience and Kennel Club Good Citizen
Dog Scheme for the London Dog Behaviour Company, which specialises in training
dogs in real life obedience combined with solving behavioural problems
in all breeds. Many of the dogs Judy handles and works with have behavioural
problems, mostly aggression towards people and/or other dogs. She has instructed
over 600 dogs and their owners on such courses. Many of the dogs attending
the classes are referred to her via Canine and Feline Behaviour Centre
or veterinary practices.
